Old local court in Michelstadt

Historic application

Already in the 50s of the last century all dream globes of company Koziol had been registered into the design patent register.

This historic application from September 2nd 1958 was made by Mr Serba of company Koziol to the design patent authorities of local court in Michelstadt.

One picture of each 3 products was included to the application. The local court in Michelstadt was located at Erbacher Straße 9 by that time.
The historic building is now a medical practice among other things.

Meanwhile, the local court had moved to Erbacher Straße 47.

Design patents

A new and somehow special sample is protected as design patent. The protection includes the whole product or even a part of it. With this design patent the holder has the only right to use the product and can interdict other parties to use it without his acceptance.

The German Patent and Brand office regulates design patent issues. Today the central application and registration is made at German Patent and Brand office. Infringements result in claims for indemnities and punishement.
